How can I tell if my dog has ring worms?

She doesn't have those hairless spots. The Dr. said my daughter has ring worms and she could have got it from our dog. Of course I freaked out!! The pictures online doesn't look like the spots on my daughter but I'm using the anti-fungal cream anyway. Our dog is an inside dog. Can anyone help?
