Since the dollar is tanking, should the USA go back to the gold standard?

If you go to the gold standard, Russia would be the world;s richest super power over night, and we'd be lucky if we were somewhere in the middle. Plus, the gold standard is to easy to manipulate. The gold standard caused the worse economic collapse in US history, before 1929 came along. I could cause a serious market crash with two investors, myself, and time enough to spread some lies. Happened under President Grant's watch, could very well happen again.
