What kind of flooring should I use.?

I have a 2000 sf house and I am looking to put in new flooring. It is a small four bedroom I am trying to sell. My objective is to make it appear big and luxurious. I was thinking bamboo or slate but Im not sure if I should go dark or light in color. Also should I mix it up make the bedrooms wood and the living areas tile or vise versa. What kind of materials should I use?
